MLM Elevator Pitch – Tried & True Methods

Network marketers end up taking on a lot of different roles within their business, and it’s important to take some time to figure out just how to master the various talents you’ll need in order to thrive within the MLM world.

One thing that many often struggle with is creating the perfect pitch for their company. And while there are various things to consider here, one that you can’t ignore is the art of perfecting your elevator pitch.

What Is An Elevator Pitch?

Essentially, this is a short, 30 second explanation of your business and product. It’s a marketing blast, and is your chance to quickly present what you have to offer to anyone. The name refers to the fact that your pitch should be so short you can present it to someone during the length of time it takes to ride an elevator – you have only a few seconds to stand out, and making sure that you do is important.

This is a key part of network marketing primarily because it lets you cut to the point of your business quickly, and doesn’t take so long to explain that your potential lead becomes bored. You’ll blast them with information and find out quickly whether or not they’re interested in your business.

Tips For The Perfect Elevator Pitch

So how can you go about crafting the perfect elevator pitch? It’s really not that difficult if you’ll remember a few basic points. Start by knowing exactly what makes your business or product different and what it really offers to people. Once you have a clear idea of this, the following steps will help you create a great pitch that you can use to get attention for your company.

  • Sell The Sizzle, Not The Steak – Think about how a restaurant sells a meal. With a steak, they don’t just say “this is a piece of meat cut out of a cow”. Instead, they really make it sound delicious. “100% grass fed beef, grilled to perfection and topped with our special sauce”, for example. Think about how you’re describing your business and make sure that it really stands out to those who are listening to your pitch.
  • Cut Out The Fat – Trim the fat from your pitch. What really matters and what is just extra info that doesn’t impact the decision to join you? Are you talking about things like earning potential or the history of the company? You should just be quickly telling them what you do and what your company provides. Anything extra needs to be left out.
  • Think Of It As A Commercial – This is nothing more than a 30 second commercial that you’re delivering to them. Think about commercials you’ve seen or heard on the radio. They quickly deliver the relevant information in a way that excites the listener. Your job is to excite someone and get them interested in what you have to offer.
  • Practice The Delivery – Finally, perfect your delivery. You can write out a great elevator pitch with no problem, but if you can’t deliver it in the right way you’ll struggle to get success with it. Try to perfect your delivery in front of a mirror and you’ll find much better results.

If you’ll keep these tips in mind you can craft a great elevator pitch that you’ll be able to use time and time again to introduce people to your company.
