Do You Know Your Email?

There are many different kinds of email that you might try to use with an email marketing campaign.  Some home based business opportunity seekers understand the difference, and this is one thing that can contribute to their success.  Knowing when and how to use the different types of emails that are at your disposal can help your campaign be more profitable.

  1. Marketing emails:  These are the emails that most of us are most familiar with.  They flood our inboxes with great deals and special offers.  Some of them we open, others go straight to the trash or spam.  The average person receives an overwhelming number of marketing emails on a daily or weekly basis, leaving most of them to be unnoticed at best.
  2. Personal emails:  This type of email message is usually welcomed into our inboxes.  It might be a message from a friend or family member, but these emails are almost invariably opened and read, and usually responded to.
  3. Transactional emails:  An email that falls into this category is one that is intended to deliver information.  It might be notifying you that someone sent you a Facebook message or tagged you in a post or photo.  It might be a receipt for a recent purchase.  It might even be a newsletter that you subscribed to.  These emails are not always opened right away, but they will usually get some attention at some point.

The email marketer who can balance each of these types of emails, interjecting transactional emails in between marketing emails in particular, is going to experience the most success with their campaigns.  When every email you send out is a great offer or some kind of discount, your recipients are going to pay less attention, unless you happen to catch them at the very moment that they are in need of your products and services.  While this is going to happen occasionally, you need to also be building up your relationship with your recipients by including transactional emails.  You might not get so far as to be sending personal emails, but you should also find the balance between personalizing an email to get attention and impersonating a personal email.
