Testing the Results of Your Article Marketing

Using articles as part of your email marketing campaign can be very effective, but it is important that, like any other part of your marketing lead generation, you need to test just how effective it is and analyze the results to see what needs to stay and what needs to be changed. If you are not generating a marketing lead regularly, then you have to rework your plant so that you can get more marketing email leads from your efforts.

How to Test the Effectiveness of Articles

One of the best ways to test how effective an article is at generating a marketing lead is to write about 20 different articles and submit them all to several of the top directories. You can find out which directories are at the top at any given time with a little bit of research in this area. Each of the top directories offers authors a report of statistics, including how many people have viewed the article. Keep track of the number of views, and the number of people who sign up for your email list by adding a field to your sign up that includes “how did you hear about us?” and offers several choices. Most email list building programs will offer some ability to adjust the fields, you should take advantage of this feature.

For example, let’s say that you have two people click through from an article in one day. Over the course of the month, that could add up to about 60 visitors from the one article. If at least one of these people signs up for your email list, then that article has generated one marketing lead. Imagine if you could get one for each article (of the 20 submitted), you could certainly begin to develop more marketing email leads quickly.

Take the numbers that you get from analyzing the number of clicks that you get to your site and the number of new marketing email leads that can come from that, then multiply it accordingly to try and accomplish your goals. If one article can generate one marketing lead per month, then 100 articles can generate 100 marketing email leads, according to the same formula. Watch your downline grow and meet your profit goals through article marketing.
